Our pearl pendants have high quality nacre coatings on a lead-free alabaster glass base. These fully round drops have a hole drilled sideways at the top and are great for necklaces, bracelets, earrings, fringe on garments, home goods, crafts and more. What is nacre? Nacre is a pearly fluid found inside pearl-producing mollusks, like oysters and mussels, that is deposited onto the surface of an irritant (usually a parasite) inside the mollusk shell. Over time, this self-defensive mechanism forms a pearl. Mother of pearl, which lines the shells of pearl-producing mollusks, is actually built-up layers of hardened nacre.
