Made in Czech Republic, these reverse carved picture stones are miniature works of art. Known historically as crystal paintings, each of these glass crystal stones is hand pressed with a smooth domed top through which you can see a detailed intaglio image, molded into the back of the stone. The intaglio carving is then painted or coated, and the surrounding surface is cut or polished to remove excess color and highlight the image. This scene of a royal crown has a painted gold color image on a painted black base. Due to the nature of these stone, please take care when attaching, as the painted backs may be affected by different types of glue.
