We appreciate the trust you place in J F Allen & Son, and we are committed to respecting your privacy and the security of your personal information.  We always want to provide you with the best possible shopping experience and fulfill your orders exactly as you've requested. In order to do this, we collect two types of information from you: Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally Identifiable Information.

Personally Identifiable Information lets us know who you are.  This information is collected when you open a commercial account with us, place an order from us or sign up for email newsletters from us.  This information allows us to:

  • Improve our merchandise selection and customer service

Collection and Use of Personally Identifiable Information

When you open a wholesale account with JF Allen & Son (required to access the commercial portion of our site) we need a copy of your business registration and need to know your name, e-mail address, telephone number, mailing address billing address and other personal information (i.e. password authentication).

When you place an online order, or contact our sales department to place an order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, mailing address, billing address, telephone number and credit card information. This information allows us to process your order, and to notify you of your order status.

When you sign up for our e-mail newsletter, we need only your e-mail address.

We contract with a partner company to provide credit card processing. We provide this company with only the information they need to perform their services and work closely with them to ensure that your privacy is respected and protected. This company is prohibited by contract from using this information for their own marketing purposes or from sharing this information with anyone other than JF Allen & Son.  For your protection, neither JF Allen nor our credit processing partner store your credit card information and you must re-enter your credit card details each time you make a new purchase on this site.

E-mail

When you provide us your e-mail address, we may send you e-mails necessary to process your order, respond to a request, or provide customer service. For example, after you place an order at www.jfallen.com, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with shipping fees, items shipped, total charged to your credit card account and package tracking information.

E-mail about Your Order

After you place your order, you will receive e-mail updates about your order status. Keep these emails accessible for your records. Below are examples of e-mails you might receive:

  • Order Confirmation. This e-mail confirms that we have received and processed your order. A packing list showing all items shipped, shipping method and cost and total charged to your credit card. The order number and tracking information will also be included.  If an item is temporarily out of stock, you will be notified that the item is cancelled from your order and you will not be billed for them.
  • Backorder Notice. This automatic e-mail informs you that an item cancelled from a previous order is back in stock and available to order.
  • Shipment Confirmation. This e-mail confirms that some or all of your order has shipped. You may receive multiple Shipment Confirmation e-mails if items are shipped separately. The arrival time of your items depends on the designated shipping method and your shipping location.
  • Important notice about your order. This email offers important information about your order, such as: difficulty in processing your order, inability to ship to the address provided, existence of a duplicate order and cancellation of your order. If you receive one of these emails, please call us immediately at 1-800-334-9971 so the problem can be addressed.

Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our web site, trends and industry news, and new services or products that we think you will find valuable. We contract with an e-mail partner to administer our informational e-mail.  You can manage your e-mail preferences from the Your Account page.
You can be confident that we will not share or sell this information to any third parties.

Collection and Use of Non-Personally Identifiable Information

We collect and store certain other information automatically whenever you interact with our website. For example, we collect your IP address, browser information and reference site domain name every time you visit our website. We also collect information regarding customer traffic patterns and site usage. This information is used to analyze and improve this website and to provide our customers with a fulfilling shopping experience.

How Does J F Allen & Son Secure Information Transmissions?
